ZOOM APP REVIEW

MeetingDesk reviewer test plan

Complete Windows test instructions for the MeetingDesk Zoom integration.

No separate MeetingDesk account is required. There is no site login, paywall, or MeetingDesk-specific test credential. Reviewers can authorize the app with a Zoom review test account.

Requirements: Windows 10 or Windows 11 (x64), .NET Framework 4.8, and Microsoft Edge WebView2 Runtime.

  1. Download and extract the ZIP file.
  2. Open the extracted folder and run MeetingDesk.exe. This portable reviewer package does not require administrator access or an installer.

Authorization

  1. Open MeetingDesk and select Zoom.
  2. Select Sign in.
  3. On Zoom's authorization page, sign in with the Zoom review account, inspect the requested permissions, and select Allow.
  4. Zoom redirects to the local loopback callback and MeetingDesk displays the connected Zoom account. The production desktop client uses Authorization Code with PKCE S256.

Test the requested Zoom scopes

  1. Select Sync. Confirm that upcoming meetings and hosted meeting history appear. Eligible webinars are also synchronized.
  2. Select New meeting or Schedule, enter a title and future time, then create the meeting. Confirm that the new meeting appears in Zoom and MeetingDesk.
  3. Open the created item in Scheduler, change its title or time, and save. Confirm the updated values.
  4. Delete the reviewer-created item. MeetingDesk displays an explicit confirmation before deleting the source Zoom item.
  5. If the review account has a webinar-eligible plan, create, update, synchronize, and delete a test webinar using the same flow.
  6. If the account has eligible Zoom AI Companion meeting summaries, open a past hosted meeting and confirm that its summary is shown. The app does not create summaries and shows them only when Zoom makes them available.

Test joining without authorization

  1. Disconnect Zoom or use a fresh app session.
  2. Paste a valid Zoom meeting link or meeting ID into Join.
  3. Confirm that the official Zoom meeting page opens in MeetingDesk's dedicated WebView2 window. Joining does not require Zoom OAuth.

Disconnect and data removal

  1. Connect Zoom again if necessary, then select Disconnect.
  2. Confirm the action. MeetingDesk removes the protected local OAuth token and locally synchronized Zoom rows. Existing Zoom meetings are not deleted by disconnecting.
  3. Access can also be revoked from Zoom App Marketplace under Manage → Added Apps.

Security and support

MeetingDesk never receives the Zoom password. OAuth tokens are encrypted locally for the current Windows user with Windows DPAPI. Provider API traffic is sent directly over HTTPS, and MeetingDesk does not operate a user-data backend. For review assistance, contact [email protected].
